The day will feature a reading and Q&A session with Matt Black, Derbyshire’s own Poet Laureate.

Join Stevie in celebrating the release of his debut album of poetry to music: “I Looked to a Star”.
There will be an open mic at the start of the evening and guest spots by Sophie Snell of The Flying Donkeys storytellers plus Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham from the Derby Traditional Music Club. We’re also hoping to see a few poets adding to the mix.
The night will be topped off by a performance from Stevie and his partner in musical crime Jonathan Eagles.

Steve’s debut album of poetry to music “I Looked to a Star” is out now.
The self-released album consists of poetry set to music alongside a couple of poems performed traditionally, without accompaniment. As a treat for long-standing fans of Stevie Lonestar, the album also features an archive demo recording of “Witches in the Wood”.
The album is available for digital download from Bandcamp.
CDs are also available from BPM Records on Sadler Gate in Derby.

We’ve just had news that Stephen Vaughan Williams has made the final cut for participation project Derby Soap Opera, a feature film coordinated by QUAD and led by world renowned film maker and artist Marinella Senatore.
Since March, Marinella Senatore has led workshops at QUAD and Deda to teach Derby residents the basic elements of film making, acting, dancing and script writing.
There will be two screenings at Derby Assembly Rooms on 2oth September 2012 as part of Derby Festé.
At the end of 2011, Steve also took part as an extra in a riot scene filmed in Allestree for the upcoming Jean Claude Van Damme film “UFO”. We wait to see if he made the final cut, IMDb reports the UK release date as 11th January 2013.
